Queen Vashti (beautiful woman)

Vashti, Queen of King Xerxes. Vashti ordered by the King to show herself off for the King and all his drunken guests which were in attendance of his 7 day party and feast. She refused his command and by doing so dishonored the King and caused him to burn in anger. Her defiant act had her removed from the palace and removed as Queen. She was never to see or be in the presents of the King again. Vashti was too dignified and possibly too shy to entertain a room full of drunken men and disgrace herself.
God's hand acted to set the course of future events.

Esther would become the new Queen and put her in a place to save the Jewish people from extermination.
Whether or not we ever understand God's reasons. He is sovereign and in control.
I can't help but think how pleased God was with Queen Vashti.
She refused to compromise her beliefs even though, she would be faced with negative consequences for her defiant actions.
In our world we place value on status and celebrity. God values each and everyone of us the same. We are all made for His purpose and His plan for us is good.
As said to the profit Jeremiah (Jer 29:11) "For I know the plans I have for you" declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
